An ancient imperial order built on the ideals of faith, discipline, and divine right, the Tianlong Dynasty mirrors the grandeur of feudal China. Believing themselves descendants of the Celestial Dragon, the Dynasty's royal family rules through the sacred Mandate of Heaven.

To the Dynasty, outsiders are treated with polite suspicion at best and quite disdain at worst. To earn acceptance, a foreigner must undergo The Trials of Heaven—a series of symbolic and spiritual tests that strip away their former identity and forge them anew beneath divine rule. Success grants them a new name, a place among Heaven’s flock, and the right to call themselves Tianlong-ren (“People of the Heavenly Dragon”).

Within their ranks, etiquette is law and loyalty is devotion; every movement, from a bow to a battle, is considered art. Warriors fight as poets, scholars pray as soldiers, and even mercy is a political move for clout.

For those who seek structure, beauty, and the weight of tradition, the Tianlong Dynasty offers purpose beneath Heaven’s order. For those who crave freedom… it offers only judgment.

The Emperor’s word is law.

No wolf may speak against or disobey Heaven’s Fang. His command is considered the voice of Heaven itself.

The Empress is to be revered as Heaven’s Mercy.

The Imperial Harem is a collection of consorts, mistresses, and concubines bound to the Emperor’s household. Their roles range from companionship to political leverage—gifts from foreign clans, noble families, or rival provinces seeking favor.

— Empress (Heaven's Mercy):

The Emperor’s wife and second in command within the court. She oversees the Imperial household, the harem, and internal affairs. Her influence shapes the moral and spiritual integrity of the Dynasty, and she is expected to be both virtuous and cunning.

— The Huanghou:

Consorts that had the task of advising the empress.

— Sun Consort (Heaven's Heart):

The Emperor’s most favored consort and often the heart of the inner palace. She wields significant soft power through her relationship with the Emperor, acting as confidant and emotional anchor. Her status depends entirely on favor — a fragile but powerful position.

The Concubines:

— Golden Kin:

The Imperial Justice System

— Dragon Guard:
Elite protectors stationed within the palace grounds. They are to protect the royal family from both inside and outside threats. They are chosen from the most disciplined soldiers in the empire.

∘ Captain of the Dragon Guard:
The leader of the elite guard sworn to protect the Emperor and Royal Family. Personally chosen by the Emperor, they command both respect and fear.

∘ Imperial Headsman:
The Emperor’s appointed executor of justice. They perform executions and corporal punishment of criminals.

∘ Prisoners:
Those awaiting trial, punishment, or execution. Some are political prisoners or failed nobles.

— Icognito Branch:
These individuals usually live double lives. They have a front as one role, but really, they lurk the corridors at night and know everyone's secrets. They answer to no one but those who hire them — or the Emperor himself.

∘ Spymaster:
A master of whispers. The spymaster understands that all is rarely as it seems, and heads a small network of whisperes that keep the dynasty informed.

∘ Assassins:
They kill in the cover of night, whiping out threats with a silent strike.

— The Jade Council:
The Emperor’s inner circle of advisors. Comprised of ministers overseeing Martial Law, Faith, Diplomacy, and Labor. They interpret Heaven’s will and ensure its reflection in all affairs of the state. Third in command to both the Empress and Emperor.

∘ Lords/Ladies:
Lords and Ladies of the Dynasty.

∘ Academic Chairs:
Those who are in charge of the care and education of all dynasty children. Royal children are assigned individual tutors.

∘ Court Physician:
Healer to the Emperor and nobility, trained in medicine. Their art balances life and death as Heaven commands it. They are usually experts in the healer class skill tree.

— Magistrate of Ceremonies:
Spiritual leaders of the Dynasty. Their job is to reaffirm the Emperor's divine right. They uphold the sancitity of The Five Rites of Breath and The Book of Tèng.

∘ Master of Ceremony:
They interpret omens, oversee major rites, oversee Trials of Heaven, and advise the emperor. They are usually experts in the seer class skill tree.

∘ Sages & Acolytes:
Tends to work in tandem with healers for spiritcraft. Servants of the faith who conduct minor rituals, prepare offerings, and assist priests. Conducts rituals, helps High Priests/Priestesses conduct rituals and rites, and helps observe Trials. Helps train Acolytes.

The Serfs

Offices of the Spring (The Healing Branch)
— Aestheticians:

These tradesmen deal with the procurement & application of various dyes & perfumes. Braiding services are sometimes offered, should the creature be deft enough.

— Medics & Apprentices:

Common healers serving soldiers, travelers, and the poor. Skilled in herbal medicine and healing rituals. Includes Students of the healing arts, guided by masters in the art of healing.

Offices of the Summer (The Martial Branch)
— Imperial General:

Commander of the Dynasty’s armies and guardian of its borders. The generals lead armies, maintain border security, and train officers. They are usually experts in the warrior class skill tree. Their word is law on the field.

— Imperial Soldier & Apprentices:

The heart of the army—trained warriors sworn to the Emperor's and the Dynasty’s defense. The highest ranking soldiers are the officers, mid-level leaders who oversee platoons and manage discipline among troops.

Offices of the Autumn (The Hunter Branch)
— Master Huntsman:

Leader of the Dynasty’s hunters. Provides food and conducts ceremonial hunts honoring the Celestial Dragon, the Emperor, the royal family, and the Dynasty as a whole. Trains other Hunters. They are usually experts in the hunter class skill tree.

— Trackers & Apprentices:

Experienced trackers responsible for feeding the court and maintaining the natural order through controlled culls. Also includes scouts and novices who assist senior hunters and learn the craft.

Offices of the Winter (The Diplomatic Branch)
— Envoy & Attachés:

Ambassadors representing the Dynasty in foreign courts. They negotiate trade, alliances, and peace treaties. They are usually experts in the orator class skill tree. Attachés are Assistant diplomats, interpreters, or scribes who accompany envoys. They learn diplomacy through observation and service.

— Messenger:

Carriers of messages and decrees. Their reliability and discretion are vital, for their words can shift alliances.

R E L I G I O N

A sea of silence devoid of both life and death existed before Heaven was given a name and the stars learned to shine. Two forces emerged from that primordial emptiness: Baixue, the White Crane, born of light and wind, and Tianlong, the Celestial Dragon, born of thunder and cloud.

Coiled through the heavens, the Dragon carved rivers with his tail and made mountains with his scales. While he slept, the land beneath him solidified into continents, and when he roared, storms were created. Despite being divine, the Dragon’s strength was wild, untamed, and cruel in its isolation.

The Crane danced among the Dragon's storms as it landed on the newborn world. Her song mellowed the thunder, and her wings brought gentle breezes instead of gales. Flowers grew where her feet touched the ground, and rivers flowed cleanly where her tears fell. Because the Dragon's fire scorched everything he loved, she felt sorry for him, considering he had made a world in which he could not live in.

In the ages that followed, the Crane sought to teach the Dragon balance. “Power without restraint,” she said, “is not creation, but ruin.” The Dragon, proud and unyielding, resisted her words. He believed might alone would bring harmony. Yet every time he raged, the Crane would rise into the storm and sing, and her song would weave through his lightning until it softened into rain.

At last, the Dragon grew weary of her defiance and descended upon the earth to challenge her. They battled for a thousand days and a thousand nights — sky against wind, flame against water. The heavens burned red, and the seas boiled with their fury. But when dawn finally came, neither had won. The Crane stood wounded yet unbroken, and the Dragon lay exhausted yet alive.

In that silence after the storm, the Dragon saw for the first time how the world bloomed in the wake of their struggle. From the ashes of their battle, forests had grown. From the clash of their powers, new life had been born. And he realized the Crane’s truth: to create is not only to rule but to nurture.

The Dragon bowed to the Crane and vowed to guard her teachings. In return, she placed her beak upon his brow and granted him serenity—the gift of sight beyond wrath. From that day forward, the two became one in purpose.

Together, they brought harmony to Heaven and Earth. The Dragon shaped the seasons with his breath, while the Crane guided their rhythm with her dance. The Dragon carried the sun across the sky, while the Crane drew down the moon. Their love, though never spoken, was eternal—a devotion that became the foundation of all balance as we know it.

It is said that their union birthed the first emperors—mortals touched by Heaven’s grace—who ruled not by power alone but by the combined harmony of strength and wisdom. The Dragon gave them sovereignty, and the Crane gave them the virtue to rule. From their union, the Tianlong Empire was born.

The priests of Tianlong teach that the Dragon represents strength, justice, and divine authority, while the Crane embodies compassion, purity, and truth. Together, they symbolize the eternal balance between action and stillness, destruction and creation, and between masculine and feminine energies, Heaven and Earth.

To favor one over the other is to bring imbalance, and imbalance leads to ruin. Thus, the dynasty honors both: the Dragon through discipline and duty and the Crane through mercy and mindfulness.

The faithful also follow what they call the Five Rites:

1. Creation

— to build, to nurture, to bring forth life.

2. Destruction

— to burn away what no longer serves.

3. Silence

— to listen, to think, to understand.

4. Offering

— giving something of yourself without expecting anything in return.

5. Balance

— to walk between all these things and not lose your way.

Religious and Public Ceremonies
Rituals and ceremonies are often situational or depend on the time of year.

Public Spaces & Altars for Ceremonies

The ancestral temple is the most sacred “public” space — though restricted to the ruler and nobility, its symbolism affected the whole realm. Even though commoners couldn’t enter, the ceremony’s effects were “public” — the entire realm’s harmony was renewed through it.

Royal processions, festivals, and proclamations were performed in broad open spaces — city squares, great avenues, or marketplaces. These were times when the ruler appeared “to the people” — displaying benevolence, conferring amnesties, or celebrating victories.

All members are encouraged to maintain Personal Altars or to create Public, Community Altars. Villagers gathered to pray for a bountiful harvest, fertility, and communal well-being. They embodied harmony between Heaven, Earth, and the people.

Seasonal Ceremonies

Spring Ceremonies:
—Drafting of Beauties:

Candidates, often from noble families, were evaluated based on their virtues and physical condition and selected to enter the Imperial Harem. Those chosen to become empresses and higher-ranked consorts had a proper marriage ceremony; a woman entering the harem as a concubine did not.

— Emperor's Birthday & Fertility Blessing:

A festival is held to honor the Emperor and his lineage. The dynast takes part in activities such as discussing sutras, creating dedicated art, and staging elaborate birthday celebrations and gifts to honor her. At the same time, couples can come forward and seek breeding approval for the next year; afterwards, the couple will be assigned to a physician to ensure the healthiest dynasty cubs.

Summer Ceremonies:
— Coming-of-Age Rites:

Young wolves approaching one year of age dress formally during a ceremony. After an elder places the symbolic item on their shoulder, they complete ritual bows, and the adult confers an adult name and announces their assigned office. Young women are formally introduced to society. This is accompanied by strange hazing tactics,such as pulling out a tooth, or (more commonly) dyeing one's teeth.

— Worship of the Ancestors:

Ancestors' spirits still exist and can bless or bring disasters. During this solemn gathering, everyone worships in the hope that their ancestors will bless them for a better life. One could communicate with heaven through offerings and rituals, thereby creating a strong connection between the present and the past, especially within family lines.

Autumn Ceremonies:
—Matchmaking Ceremony:

This is the second-largest event of the year, after the Emperor's birthday. Young women of the court train all year for this event. They begin meeting with the Empress after their Coming of Age ceremony, and continue through their second birthday when they enter proper breeding age. During the ceremony, the eligible women are dressed as opulently as possible, and their marriage pairing is announced before the entire dynasty. The marriage is then held later on, privately, amongst the married families and the magistrate of ceremonies.

— Autumn Festival & Grand Hunt:

Held several weeks after the Matchmaking Ceremony, when the moon is at its biggest, as a way to celebrate prosperity. It is a day of repose: At dawn, solemn rites and offerings were performed to give thanks for abundance; by midday, the court departed to the open plains for the ceremonial hunt. Those who stay back are entertained by spoken poetry and song.

Winter Ceremonies:
— Lunar New Year:

The Royal Family hosts a large celebration full of food, fermented drink, and entertainment. Earlier in the year, the Empress chose a married couple to perform the Dragon's Dance — a heartbreaking rendition of the love between the Crystal Dragon and the Crane. Privately, wolves engage in housecleaning, sprinkling herbs for good luck, staying up all night, and telling stories. Gifts are given copiously, especially in the color red.

— Worship of the Heavens:

On the day of the winter solstice, the Emperor himself worships the heavens in front of an audience. He then offered sacrifices and prayed for a good harvest for his country the next year. During prosperous years, this is often accompanied by a feast.

As Needed Ceremonies

Auspicious Rites:

Tea Ceremonies & Banquets celebrate good events & serve to bless whatever event it is honoring. Three meats are served: the deer, the fish, and the boar. Here, there is an emphasis is on the reciprocity of etiquette rather than on dining. The guests of honor may drink to their heart's desire at banquets.

Inauspicious Rites:

Inauspicious ceremonies were carried out when sad things occurred, mainly funerals but also when disastrous events had befallen a family, or in the occurrance of natural disasters, military defeat, or rebellion. The activities mostly consisted of public offerings & sacrifice.

Rites of War:

Ceremonies were held to unify the state, consisting of: ceremonies for military review, declarations of war, the dispatch of armies, reports of victory & the presentation of booty and captives & triumphant returns.

Death Rites:
— Nobility:

Objects of the imperial household were considered to be court property, so when the nobility dies, treasures are returned for reassignment to another woman of similar status. Widows are expected to remain chaste after their spouse's death.

— Officers:

Funerals for soldier and officers were very formal. The fallen's peers guide the prepared& decorate body to the burying place and all in attendance participat in the burial. Then there's the presentation of condolences during a memorial ceremony.

Births:

Three Days after birth, the child receives various gifts expressing wishes for good health and prosperous life.

At Sixty Days After Birth, the child is given a name.

When the child reaches six months old, the Zhuazhou rite is performed where parents place various items in front of their child and observe which item the child picks up. This predict the child's future luck or destiny.

Fishing is easy and plentiful here, with a slightly warmer median temperature making this a popular spot for many to find food and rest. However, one mustn’t grow too comfortable here, for the harsh counter to this easy living during the day is met with the harsh reality of its brutal frigid nights and cruel winds, with the latter cutting across the tundra like knives against minimal coverage.

There are no restrictions on how many may join in a single union, as all forms of love are respected and cherished. As long as all involved give and receive respect, both to each other and to the earth, their union will be welcomed and honored within Druids Rise.

The toisiche or seuman will lead the ceremony, depending on who is available and the wishes of those being united. The circle will gather at the Guiding Stone, where the souls to be joined will speak words of union, affirming their commitment before the circle and the land. They will then offer a gift to nature, whether to the spirits of air, earth, water, or fire, the choice is theirs. From there, a celebration will follow in their honor, filled with dancing, singing, and feasting, as the circle comes together to welcome and bless their union.

In Character (IC) progression is the only way to gain power/status within Jakten
This is done to encourage bonds between pack members via threading together! It is also encouraged for any individuals to hold the status of a Tier 3 rank before attempting to hold a Tier 2 or 1 rank.

Breeding

Only those that have gained the Einvalds' acceptance can breed with the intent to give birth, as the goal is to ensure strong linages within the pack. If a pair of wolves wishes to breed, or if a single wolf wishes to gain the favor of the imperial family, they must meet with the Einvald and request their permission. Once given, the permission to breed is given for life unless otherwise agreed upon. However, at any time, the Einvald can revoke this privilege as they see fit.

Satriya is live! (7.30.25)

Standing high and alone in the desert is a truly rare spectacle - an enormous pyramid of unknown origins. Attempting to reach its apex is an exhausting feat, especially in a land forever baked in the sun’s harsh light, so most typically only reach its peak at nightfall. Somewhere, hidden cleverly within its four imposing walls is an opening, perhaps where someone might live… but the entrance remains a mystery and a trade secret to those who can find it.
Inside Satriya, large rooms of hewn stone provide a honeycombing of activity, shrines, apartments, and throne rooms. The walls are painted pleasantly with accents provided by plant dyes, and an underground garden provides a heavy, pleasant scent of desert flowers throughout the palace. Time will tell how deep the great obelisk runs.

THE PRIESTHOOD

Pharaoh is divine. The priests carry out rites of blood and material so that their figurehead may contemplate Amun and Atum.

· Pharaoh is considered the Most High Priest, and takes forefront in any important rites
· Cleanliness is imperative. Regular bathing is required, along with rituals of cleansing on feast days and ceremonies
· The priesthood sings each morning before dawn to glorify Ra as He is reborn
· For priestesses, dancing, singing, and keening are part of worship
· Priests & priestesses take an authoritative hand in schooling the children of royals and nobility
· Priesthood is hereditary. Appointed by Pharaoh, the High Priest and/or Priestess can pass the role down to an heir of blood or choice
· New priests are called we'eb. They have little say in anything and are appointed as sem-priests, those holy ones who prepare a body for embalming. With longevity, a sem-priest might graduate to a priest or priestess of Ka, one who sings the chants and the hymns. Astronomers, astrologers, magicians, and those claiming to perform the dark heka of sorcery or necromancy are several of the paths a trained priest may take

THE NOBILITY

The nobles are the epicenter of intrigue, drama, betrayal, treason, and wealth. Their marriages are often decided by Pharaoh and/or Queen, and particularly loyal subjects may have a chance to marry into the royal family.

· Gossip is the most powerful weapon a noble can wield, destroying or uplifting at will. The power of combined nobility can be enough to pressure the change of a dynasty.
· Nobles are judged upon their appearance and attitude
· Spending one's days in pursuits such as hunting, drinking, pleasures of the flesh, or military activity are encouraged
· A noble can be summoned at any time of day or night by royalty. Failure to arrive could result in social demotion
· Nobles may marry fellahin, but the most arrogant among them vie for a chance to marry even lesser royalty
· When a noble dies, unless they were also employed in a trade, their titles can revert to Pharaoh's whim. Viziers and royal physicians also fall under this category.
· Nobility may be appointed with agreement to the harem*. This gives a small chance of marrying Pharaoh as a Second Wife

military

THE MILITARY

The military is the physical backbone of Satriya, standing very close to Pharaoh and Queen.

· Officers of all ranks are expected to look to royalty for final say. They are not to question orders
· A rugged mien is needed for soldiering. Sparring, patrolling, fighting mock battles, and hard travel are all ways that soldiers might be trained in the desert
· The Jodai after consistent service may be called upon to become a royal officer. Refusal does not have a punishment
· A soldier follows a hierarchy. He may report to one above him. Complaints should be made to the Jodai.
· Soldiers can expect to enjoy some leisure time. They may also marry fellahin or nobility in a love match. In years of conflict or battle, a portion of any tribute belongs to them as well
· Devoted military may find themselves two choices: retreat to the smaller outposts outside Satriya, a force unto oneself, or choose to become part of the royal guard, assigned to the protection of divine ruler
· A retired soldier may enjoy the respect of Pharaoh in two ways: to be dismissed from service altogether based on injury, or the appointment of said officer to a position of royal commentary

viziers

THE ADVISORS

The vizier, also known as Wedjat, has the pulse of Satriya. No message, event, or word passes without address.

· The vizier knows what Pharaoh had for breakfast and where the Queen will walk that day. Working with the higher-ranked officers and the Chief Steward of Servants, the vizier ensures each day goes well
· Expected at most ceremonies and all royal, the vizier has the ear of royalty. In their heart there might exist a bias, but never should this be shown
· Called away to travel, on journeys of state, and to royal births, the vizier’s life is rarely their own. They must be as available as any other servant, indeed more often
· The Wedjat may accomplish a network of knowledge through spying or spies
· Being so close to the royal family means that the vizier is the gate through which all nobility passes. Ingratiating oneself with this office is important. If marriage is desired, a member of the royals will arrange it
· In the case of poisoning, the vizier may be detained for questioning by the Jodai, exempt only by a royal word. To protect against any such event, the vizier is given the proverbial keys to all chambers and can petition to replace guards in the most sacred areas.
· The Wedjat is expected to be seen as pious at least in ritual regards. Marriage is permitted with fellahin though encouraged with nobility
· Should Pharaoh die with no heir or too young an heir, the vizier will become Highest Advisor to both the young ruler and the Dowager. In times of extreme duress, the Dowager may seek to legitimize the vizier through a royal marriage.

THE PHYSICIANS

The physicians, or sesh (both plural/singular use) of Satriya are greatly important. They tend both the servant and royalty with the same care and skill. A High Physician, one who is very well-trained, may be called upon to live closer to one court or another.

· A physician may have two apprentices at once. Specialties include midwifery, wisdom of poison, knowledge of herbal medicine, and ability to procure rare plants when needed
· Skilled sesh expect more responsibility, appointed to the harem or even royal births
· Waiting upon Pharaoh is understanding that this intimacy is not permitted to all. A physician should keep their own counsel. Gossip over Pharaoh's state may have large repercussions for the palace at large
· Priests and physicians can expect to have constant overlap, as treatment includes both medicine and prayers
· Sesh may marry fellahin or up into nobility if it is agreed, though sometimes a physician without a family is preferred, being able to be called upon at any time
· In the case of poisoning, the physician may be detained for questioning by the Jodai.
· Sesh are expected to be humble and diligent, devoted to their work and to their own prayers

THE SERVANTHOOD

The fellahin of Satriya perform all the difficult and sometimes unpleasant tasks inside and outside the palace. Their position is chosen, not forced, and it is lifelong.

· Fellahin are skilled laborers who may have a background of ignorance or crudity. Those outside the culture are also kept as servants and may speak their own tongue, provided they learn Egyptian
· A servant might also work up from the most humble dung-cleaner to become the personal body servant of even royalty. They are allowed to marry one another with little interference, and may be chosen to become nobles through marriage as well. On occasion, a servant might catch the eye of Pharaoh.
· Silence, a listening ear, and humility are highly demanded. Fellahin report to the Hebsut, Chief Steward of Servants. In the absence of a Hebsut, the next highest role in the hierarchy may be called as decider
· Fellahin dance, sing, and serve at festivals and gatherings. Nobles, soldiers, and royalty alike may wish to enjoy the company of fellahin who catch their eye, but this must be agreed upon
· At times, private messages must be carried. The servant is expected in these moments to act as scribe, memorizing the message and carrying it who must hear. They risk themselves as spies and treasoners if the situation is dire
· In the case of poisoning, the servant(s) may be detained for questioning by the Jodai.
· Fellahin are expected to be humble and diligent, devoted to their work and to their own prayers. They are to assist priests and physicians when necessary, and ensure that soldiers are fed. The most skilled midwives often come from among fellahin.

THE GODHOOD

Divine Iterations of Gods Upon Earth, all heads must bow and all backs must bend before the Royal Family. Amun has chosen Pharaoh and Queen as His Gilded Voice.

· It is a lifelong appointment. Royals are expected at every shrine, every feast day, every ceremony, and every minor rite. It is they who call the days and they who are risen by hymns. The entire court is to anticipate their wants. They are to be approached with great aplomb, and almost never by low or new servants.
· The practice of intermarriage between members of the royal family is their divine creed, to preserve a fiercely defended lineage dating back through several pharaonic names
· Respect for those beneath them must be observed, firmness rather than cruelty. Cruelty, however, remains a whim. Provoking it is not advisable.
· Pharaoh has sovereign judgement over all military movements. It must be Pharaoh who makes the great sacrifices at ceremonies as well. These things are related by the bloodshed that the Mighty Bull must judge as necessary for the kingdom.
· Nobility are most likely to become companions and trusted friends of the royal family. Ingratiating oneself through becoming a Royal Nurse or joining Pharaoh's hunting-court is recommended. Praise and worship that is not forced will be treasured, and gifts of rare yet consistent items will be remembered.
· Pharaoh may marry two lesser wives. It is recommended that these be of political requirement. Neither will approach the Queen nor the Queen's power, who becomes Empress upon Pharaoh's second marriage and retains not only her first titles, but is Blessed of Hathor by the High Priest/ess in a ceremony.
· In the event that Pharaoh should die in war or of disease and has appointed no heir, the Queen shall become Dowager Empress and choose the successor. If they are still young, it is the Dowager and the ministers who shall steer the country until the heir has come to adulthood
· In the event that the Queen should die in war, in childbirth, or of disease, Pharaoh must choose to continue or to step down for the first daughter.
· The Crown Prince must take a year's tour with the military and on expedition, to see more than the land they will inherit.
· In the case of many princes/sses with equal claim to the Horus Throne, Pharaoh must be pressured to appoint a successor. Failure to do so must then result in the nobility forming their own factions of support among the heirs.

COURT SYSTEM

Satriyans have the opportunity to divide themselves between two courts: that of Pharaoh and that of the Queen. Each court may have its own servants, priest or priestess(es), guards, vizier, nobles, and officials. These individuals have a second loyalty to protecting the privacy of their chosen court. Spies may be a future option for further intrigue between courts.
Currying favor with the royals is the swiftest way to move up in the ranks. Each skillset – servant, noble, military, official – has its own High Rank, to which all others beneath would be answerable to a sort of internal leadership. Keep in mind that regardless of court, an inhabitant of the palace is still subject to Pharaoh’s final say.

TRADE

Trade is key to the success of wealth-gathering for Satriya. Historically, precious stones, minerals, pelts, spices, meats, feathers, ‘liquors' derived from fruit, flower, or fermentation, fresh flora, plant dyes, and so on and so forth.
Especially prized in the palace are things not found in the desert, and these items will be sure to remind a noble or royal who brought it to their attention. Trade is the first thing sought when making alliances, with an eye to preserve routes between Satriya and its new ally.

The Kingdom of Avon calls Blushed Meadows its home - a place to set down roots and continue a legacy that transcends worlds and time. It is the rekindled heart of an ancient civilization once thought extinct and the foundation of no more than fairy tales - but within Mythris, the beliefs and practices have been revived in the flesh-and-blood descendants of ancient Avon and those they hold dear.

More found-family unit than oligarchy, Avon is a group of like-minded individuals amassed from blood and covenant alike who foster an appreciation of nature and the supernatural deities who support it. Fae and Gaelic gods are revered for their status and power - both are something equally loved and to be feared, though the wolves of Avon prefer to surpass the fear and embrace a goodwill toward nature in respect of the powers that be.

"Wildflower Run"

Wildflowers proliferate in this wide expanse of territory near the lower-middle portion of Blushed Meadows, manifesting in vibrant colors all across the board. Prey are drawn to this area for its coverage and food offerings, making it valuable for hunting.

Sometimes, yellow wild roses crop up amidst the wildflowers.

"Boann's Rill"

Boann's Rill is named for the river guardian Boann and pivots from the cold channels of the north, flowing westward through Blushed Meadows.

Though the water appears shallow, it is treacherously deep and its tides are quick, certain to drag unsuspecting and inexperienced swimmers under in a hurry. The river eventually narrows and calms before emptying into Dana's Sanctuary. As of May 2025, the Rill is not safe to submerge in or drink from.

"The Shallows"

A floodplain from Sterling River ambles across the western portion of Blushed Meadows, creating fresh water shallows for drinking and general purposes.

Not steep enough to swim in, the shallows are a popular location for teaching young to navigate water or cool off in the heat of summer without risk of drowning.

"Heart of Avon"

In the center of the Meadows is a cluster of trees whose ancient root matrix cling to rockwork and hold it in place. Believed the be the very heartbeat of the lands, this serves as the central meeting location for the Kingdom of Avon.

The boulders rise above the ground level in a gradual incline, producing a stage of sorts for meetings. The structure is easy to ascend with step-like outcrops and sturdy roots to find purchase on

"Brigid's Embrace"

Placed close to the Heart of Avon, Brigid's Embrace is reserved for the birthing of young and the storage of herbs. The den itself is larger than it appears, the soil worked away by ancient roots and easy to mold to a prospective parent's needs.

It is believed those born in this hollow will be looked over and protected by the goddess of childbirth, Brigid.

"Communal Densite"

A stone's throw from the Heart of Avon and Brigid's Embrace, the communal densite is accessed through a yawning entrance surrounded by dense and protective roots. Within, a vast denning area has been carved out by previous tenants and the Kingdom itself, creating ample and comfortable space for the members of the pack. Additional, more private, 'rooms' may be created.

"Cavern Entrance"

Discovered in the first spring of Avon's residence within Blushed Meadows, this cave leads into the tunnel system below and is the only known entrance. During spring and summer, wild yellow roses will grow around its maw.

The entrance is well-hidden by the rocks and vegetation surrounding it, making it an easy-kept secret if one so chooses.

"Kingdom Commons"

Within the belly of the caverns, what once was is reduced to glimmers. Ruins and remains that suggest a human-adjacent kingdom once existed within the cave are evidenced in broken columns, reclaimed stonework, and other pieces of long-forgotten history.

This is an optional denning area for those who wish to use it, but may be difficult for very young children to traverse.

"Dana's Sanctuary"

The most holy of the Kingdom's locales, Dana's Sanctuary is named for the mother of goddesses and is a place where no violence or discourse may exist.

Dotted along the caverns walls, spears and clusters of natural quartz create a dazzling display of prisms when the light is right, but do take care - their edges are as dangerous as they are brilliant.

From above, a wide chasm provides light and fresh water from Boann's Rill access to the cave. This, and the channel leading in from the cave system, are the only ways into the Sanctuary, but a fall from above would certainly be fatal.

The Apostles do the majority of their work here, communing with the deities and fae alike, though some festivals and rites may also take place here beneath the blessing of the aforementioned bodies.

"Fae Stone"

A peculiar stone sits near the northern border between the Blushed Meadows and Frostfang Vale. Strange and imperceptible markings are driven into its surface and it is often overcome with moss and other vegetation.

It is believed to be of the fae's making and offerings may be left here, often in the form of harvested fruit, bones, and other baubles the fae may like. Leaving poor offerings are believed to inspire their ire.

"The Morrigan's Eye"

Just north of the Garden of Sidhe is The Morrigan's Eye. This hag stone is believed to permit the viewer to see beyond the veil and discern the presence of fae.

This structure serves as the central location of Samhain celebrations for its closeness to the deceased.

"Garden of Sidhe"

Just at the border of Blushed Meadows and Royal Wisterian Woodlands lies the Garden of Sidhe. Outfitted with a carpet of blue bells, it is believed the fae linger in this garden.

A memorial space rests in its center, where those left behind in the world of the living may visit and reflect upon their lost loved ones. This area is kept tidy and clear of debris as an act of respect and service - dishonoring the garden is very much frowned upon.

"Veilkeep"

While a memorial space exists within the Garden of Sidhe, a small and quiet area south of it is reserved for the actual burials.
The bodies of the fallen are laid to rest here, and during the warmer months, fragrant wildflowers and butterflies frequent the area to keep the spirits company.

Veilkeep is less traveled, but that is intentional; it is viewed as disrespectful to walk upon the grounds where the dead slumber.

"Aine's Whisper"

A great many weeping beech trees create an area of respite at the borders of Howling River, Royal Wisterian Woodlands, and Blushed Meadows. Their branches, heavy with blooms during the warm months, sway with the winds and rustle in a calming melody.

There are two trees settled centrally that are of greater age. At one time, there was a third tree, but it has long fallen. Between itself and one of its standing brethren are a limb from each, which in some angles, take on the shape of a rough heart.

Beltane celebrations take place here, as it is believed Aine's influence is alive and well within its berth.

"Fateweaver Field"

The site of Mabon's festivities, Fateweaver Field is settled in the northern reaches of the territory, just before steep inclines lead into Frostfang Vale.

With its flat terrain, a glorious view of the sky is permitted without obstruction, day or night. Bright pink wildflowers grow here, dappling the blushed grasses.

"Avon Garden"

Settled just outside the central cluster of trees is the Kingdom's garden, which is comprised of various herbs and plant life needed and utilized by the group.

The garden is largely maintained by the Apotheca, but others are welcome to lend a paw in its care.

Pack Bylaws

R u l e s

✿ Prospective members must meet the Matriarch before approval.

✿ While members are welcome to pursue personal business outside of the pack, they are expected to let someone know where they are going. There is no time limit on excursions. Guests may move freely, even while receiving medical attention from Avon.

✿ Those who are in need of assistance cannot be turned away, especially any who are injured or in need of protection.

✿ Attacking known fae or otherwise harming them is strictly forbidden and is considered an affront to nature.

✿ Violence is a matter of last resort. It should not be the first tool in one's arsenal except in situations where harm may befall one of Avon's own.

✿ All members should do their best to contribute to the Kingdom's overall wellbeing, even if it entails gardenwork, fetching items for others, or generally helping in daily chores.

✿ Members can perform tasks outside of their specialization, provided they do no harm.

✿ The Matriarch's word carries the highest weight, but all who bear leadership roles (Matriarch-in-waiting, High Regent, Diviner, High Warden) may command those beneath them and their instruction begs respect.

✿ Children younger than 6 months of age are to be defended at all costs. They should remain within the more heavily protected areas of the Meadows unless shadowing one or more adults.

P u n i s h m e n t s

Punishment is not doled out lightly, but it is also something that does not happen often. As Avon strives to operate largely as an extended familial unit, there is emphasis on simply treating everyone with respect and grace.

However, if it must be done, it often takes the following forms, in no particular order:

✿ Clearing debris, cleaning denning areas

✿ Cache management (clearing out spoiled carcasses, etc)

✿ Patrol duty

✿ Chores for group members

Avon Culture

Before Mythris and a world ago, fae took on many forms but were seldom seen by man. They were long thought to have gone extinct, if they had ever existed to begin with, due to the lack of presence they held. It was not always this way, however, as they had once milled about mortalkind, particularly in the now-dead civilization of Avon. As fae protected nature, they were sometimes hunted by man for their prowess or the land they defended.

Avon served as an easement between fae and man, a place where both could freely receive the other without threat of harm. It was through this kingdom that the haphazard kinship between the two parties would begin to mend, both creating concessions for the other through the careful art of negotiation and good-faith practices.

For many years, Avon thrived as a sort utopia, but its success was the bedrock of jealousy for an opposing nation. Avon would eventually fall to Cathair na Déithe (Déithe) and, in its dying breath, all memory of it would fade. Déithe erased the kingdom from all records, cleaving every ounce of magic from its bones and leaving its shell to crumble as ruins far beneath the ground where no one would ever find it.

What stories remained of Avon were spun as folktales, the sort of stories told to children at bedtime. There are few who know the truth of Avon, and they now inhabit Mythris.

The rightful heirs of Avon have now arrived in Myhris: the Goldencourtes. Though fae blood ran in their veins in the world before, they are but mortal wolves now.

They bring with them their hopes to revitalize and perpetuate the community and beliefs that were woven into their previous lives.

Avon originally found its way into Mythris by the group Avon Odyssey in Golden Glade, but strife would send them across Mythris to Blushed Meadows. It is here that the group would settle and begin to build their home anew. Though its ranks underwent changes, new life was breathed into the group in the winter of Year Two after the group's matriarch Fable discovered more of her family had wound up within Mythris.

Now, Avon serves as a sanctuary for those in need and outliers, those who seek a place without judgement. The group would officially be founded on May 31, 2025 with , , , , , , , , , and serving as founders.

Most of the rites and activities woven into Avon find source material from Morrigan's Hand, a coven from the same universe that the Goldencourtes hail from. As a part of their practices, Avon welcomes all who are in need of shelter or assistance; no one is turned away lest they promise trouble, and there is no expectation for compensation. Through empathy and an impassioned desire to leave the world better than they found it, the members of Avon are a port in the storm for those who find themselves battered by the waves of discourse. As such, violence should be utilized only as a last resort and the members of the group are largely, if not totally, well-meaning individuals.

The pack practices regular festivals, namely for solstices, and it is encouraged to frequently leave offerings to the various deities and fae who are believed to bless their group.

Samhain • Oct. 31

The beginning of the year for those in Avon, and arguably the most sacred of days. The festivities begin as the sun sets and do not end until first light. It is thought this day allows spirits to linger among the living, giving survivors an opportunity to "speak" with their lost loved ones. Diviners and Clerics bless the festival grounds ahead of the celebration.

✿ Feasts and consumption of fermented fruit, substances take place during this day.

✿ Attendees are expected to spruce themselves up in some way - flowers, vines, bones, and other decorations are encouraged.

✿ Altars will be created to honor The Morrigan and those who are deceased. Individuals may begin their own, too. It is common to leave baubles, food, and other things the deceased or The Morrigan may like at the altars, as it is thought the spirits can pull them into their world due to the weakened veil.

✿ Dancing and revelry are common activities.

✿ Those who are born (or conceived) on this day are thought to possess great powers.

✿ Dandelions can be blown to honor the dead.

✿ The festival ends at first light with a group song.

Yule • Dec. 21

The darkest day of the year and a more somber occasion, Yule is a less "organized" festival for the group and is a day of reflection. There are no group celebrations on this day and all may honor the day as they please.

✿ Exchanging gifts and stories are favorite pastimes for this day.

✿ Inviting family members and friends for dinner are often extended.

✿ Reflecting on the past seasons and preparing for the coming spring.

✿ If, for whatever reason, fire is present, burning pine branches is thought to have a cleansing effect for the spirit.

Ostara • March 20

Celebration of spring and thought to be a day of great fertility for those trying to begin a family.

✿ Nature walks, garden work and foraging are popular activities.

✿ A time to replenish stores, where possible.

✿ Cleaning of communal areas, removal of debris, etc.

✿ A meeting should be held at midday, when the sun is at its highest, to discuss plans for the coming season and to recount blessings received during the winter.

Beltane • May 1

A more romantic-leaning celebration, Beltane is forged to celebrate Aine. While it can set the scene for peers to meet and love matches to be made, it remains a time of embracing the warmer months of late spring and welcoming summer.

✿ Unions are thought to be blessed by Aine on this day. Those who step up to be wed on Beltane have a cord of daisies rested around their shoulders as part of the ceremony.

✿ Celebration activities include dancing during golden hour, eating fermented fruit (and imbibing on substances), games, exchanging of flowers.

✿ Daisies are a particular favorite for the festival and can be worn as flower crowns or nestled into fur.

Lughnasadh • August 1

Historically a day to secure marriages, it has undergone some adjustments in the land of Mythris. It now signifies a day of merriment and indulging in the summer's waning influence - the final vestiges of "play" before the harvest season is upon them.

✿ Swimming and fishing are popular on this day, especially as a competition between two individuals or more.

✿ Feats of strength, agility, and other physical skills via spars are encouraged.

✿ All are expected to bring some sort of food offering to the gathering, including foraged foodstuffs, prey, vegetation, or fermented fruits.

✿ A meeting is held at final light for a group howl to serve as a show of gratitude for the faes' blessings through the fruitful season.

Mabon • September 22

After working hard during the harvest season, Mabon aims to be a reward and a conduit for bonding with the group and families as a whole. It is a more warm and fuzzy sort of gathering, but is an all-day event in and of itself.

✿ The day starts off with a group hunt before first light. Those invited to the hunt do not have to be part of Avon. The larger the prey, the more blessings there are thought to be in store for them.

✿ Stargazing, cloud watching, and general relaxation are popular on this day - particularly with one's mate or families.

✿ Sparring is welcome on this day.

✿ Those who do not attend the hunt are expected to prepare other amenities in wait for the hunting party to return.

✿ Giving a yellow rose to someone is seen as a testament of affection, and they are your "chosen" suitor.

✿ The festival ends with a group howl after the sun goes down, but the attendees sleep outside of dens and beneath the stars.

Union Rituals

Most union or wedding rituals are entirely up to the two committing to one another, but traditions from Talahm include pawfasting - previously handfasting - in Mythris. The prospective pair will have one paw each bound by a cord of daisies or other flowers/plants. The night before a union, the two (or more) to be bound together bathe in the waters of Dana's Sanctuary when the moon rises over the portal at the top.

Fae Offerings

Offerings for fae take the form of shiny baubles, herbs, fruit, bones, and woven grasses. They are typically left around the borders and in places where blessings are most needed. Placing a bundle of flowers outside one's den is thought to promote the fae's favor for its inhabitants. If a flower goes missing, it means that is the fae's favorite.

Guest Policy

Guests are treated as welcome parties. They should be attended to the best of the kingdom's ability, so long as they cause no trouble.

Religious Observances

Religion has no singular school of thought among Avon. They are tolerant of others' beliefs - or lack thereof - and do not judge others based upon them.

Foraging

Herbs, flowers, and plants are not picked to the detriment of nature. They collect as much as one needs, but leave some for the host colony to replenish - working with nature rather than draining it.

Rites of Advancement

✿ On their first birthday, all tender-roots are asked for their preferred field. They are then assigned a mentor during a short ceremony and their training begins. The Rite of Fates entails the Diviner applying a pawprint to the tender-root's chest with nature-made paints and fireflies (for fluorescing.) This gesture is symbolic of remembering what is within one's heart as they embark on their life as an adult.

✿ The Rite of The Morrigan requires an acolyte to bond with a crow or raven and uncover three signs of The Morrigan, which they must decipher and reveal to the present Diviner.

✿ Prospective Wardens must complete the Rite of Macha to proceed. The Rite of Macha requires the trainee to take down the lead stag of a deer herd and present the antlers to the Diviner. They may bring one other trainee with them, but only one may progress with a single hunt.

✿ When an Apotheca's apprentice has trained for at least 6 months, they may take the Rite of Brigid at their mentor's discretion. They will be required to bring their mentor the herbs to treat a hypothetical ailment with only the symptoms explained, and then reveal their own diagnosis and how to apply the herbs they prescribe.

Matriarch-in-waiting

The chosen heir to lead Avon in the event the current matriarch dies or otherwise gives up her rank. They will learn beneath the matriarch and become apprised of all matters pertaining to the pack. A single member occupies this rank, typically.

High Regent

Second-in-command, assumes authority in the absence of the Matriarch. This role can be any gender identity and only one may hold it.

Apostles

Those who tend to the fae and/or gods. The main goddess observed by the pack heralds from the days of the Hand - The Morrigan - but others are also observed on a case-by-case basis. Ascending the ranks involves experience and rites.

✿ Diviner
Highest rank, often leads spiritual ceremonies, ordains pairings etc.

✿ Cleric
General rank, flows beneath Diviner.

✿ Acolyte
Novice rank.

Acolytes are assigned a mentor for the duration of their training and are eligible to become a cleric after a minimum of six months of training. Their tasks, until such a time, pertain to learning about the gods, fae, and rites. In order to become a cleric, they must pass the Rite of The Morrigan.

The Diviner is usually handed down to the eldest in the ranks, or one who is well-trained. As familiarity with the various rites is required, no one below three years of age is permitted to become the diviner.

Fae

Individuals who claim or are believed to be of fae descent (Non-wolves who are able to speak). Highly revered and respected by the kingdom. Unlimited number of members may have this role.

Protectors

This role is devoted to the protection of the pack and filling of caches. It is a ranked role and experience and rites will feed into advancement. The ranks are as follows:

✿ High Warden
Highest rank, only one. They lead any battle-centric initiatives and report directly to the Matriarch.

✿ Warden
Multi-character and general rank for warriors/protectors.

✿ Trainee
Novice rank, will be assigned to a mentor for training.

The green and unproven among the protectors are the trainees, and they will train with their mentor for at least six months before being eligible for induction as a warden, though it may often take longer due to the demands of the field.

Trainees may patrol with other trainees (but not alone). A warden or the High Warden should be summoned in cases of conflict with other packs. Attacking others unbidden may result in trainees being removed from the role.

The role of High Warden is typically chosen through a series of spars. All who wish to assume the title must prove their mettle in order to take the mantle. Current High Wardens may avoid sparring to determine their replacement by recommending their choice to the Matriarch and receiving backing from all current wardens.

Courier

This role is dedicated to communication and relations with outside packs. When not carrying messages or acting on missives from the Matriarch, they more or less fill in the gaps elsewhere within the pack. Multiple members may assume this role.

Apotheca

This role is for those who prefer to soothe wounds of both heart and flesh. There are only two ranks within: Apotheca (trained healers) and Apprentices (untrained or unproven healers). Apprentices may not practice healing without their mentor, or a full-fledged apotheca, present

Those who undertake training as an Apotheca must be at least one year of age and are then assigned a mentor during the Rite of Fates ceremony. Apprentices who are deemed to be suitable Apotheca must fulfill the following criteria:
✿ Trained for 6 months with a mentor

✿ Complete the Rite of Brigid

✿ Receive recommendation from their mentor

Hearth-keeper

Role dedicated to pupsitting, caretaking, general cog in the wheel of Avon, but very valued. Warmth and empathy are valuable here. Unlimited number of members may occupy this role.

Sommelier

Members who choose the path of the sommelier are responsible for the curation and maintenance of fermented fruits and berries for the kingdom's uses. The alcoholic fruits are used in day-to-day life and also during festivals. There may be more than one character in this role, and they are expected to tend to general pack duties.

Tender-root

Children, regardless of who their parents are, become tender-roots. They remain this rank until one year, but may entertain various trades before then for experience/learning their preferences.

Reborn after the god's retrieval of their previous Queen, Skjoldrheim is a band of folks who have been to hell and back.

Once looking to praise the ancient Norse gods, a new branch of the heavens has arisen in their ranks - the Greeks - and tribute to both religions has begun. Many a mortal has been born with memories of a foreign land, but so too have many gods been brought down to this realm of man.

Settled in the north on the isle of Storm Reach, new wonders have been discovered underneath the cold snows of winter as they begin to melt away with the spring sun. A fallen fortress and a cave system of once-built human ruins in the mountains have been uncovered.

Seeking to connect once more with their lost ties, Skjoldrheim has transformed from a once hardy bunch into one of both superstition and belief. They wish to embrace different cultures, while staying true to their norse ways.

4.1.2025 — Dawnbreak welcomes the birth of and 's first litter! Welcome to the world , , , , , , and !

3.31.2025 — Recently, the air has been ... strange. The snow seems tinted purple, and many wolves within Dawnbreak are reporting experiences with a strange "Dream Visitor"... has recently called upon the members of Dawnbreak to gather to discuss the strange happenings that have been spreading through Mythris. Members with any information on the recent strange phenomena are encouraged to report to their pillars!

1.14.2025 — In an unfortunate and sudden twist of fate, was found dead by , drowned in the ice-cold waters of Winterscar. Despite an incredible effort by the pack, his body was lost to the depths of the frigid lake. What a sombering, traumatic loss for all of Dawnbreak to lose one of their beloved elders as well as a founding pillar of the pack. Rest in peace, Genghis.

In the aftermath of his death, the pack was called upon to vote to fill the position that Genghis once held. In an extremely close vote, has been voted to be the next Pillar of Courage! Congratulations to Nóttin, despite the unfortunate circumstances of his inauguration.

9.18.2024 — During the pack's first meeting to grant official roles for their members, unexpectedly lashed out toward , and , accusing them of potentially abusing power as the first self-appointed figureheads. Despite others rising to their defense and a reminder that tenure was finite, and the position offered no real authority, the tiger continued his verbal onslaught as tensions rose.

Aurelia called for a fair vote among those present to allow Kuhn's accusations to be satisfied, if true. The three figureheads were willing to step down if that is what the majority wished, but before the pack's first vote could even be exercised and prove their sincerity, the cat left with a few parting words of vitriol toward his once-family, leaving them all stunned and bewildered as to where his fury had truly originated.

9.16.2024 During a lone hunt, is suddenly attacked by a raging bear. Luckily had thought to trail him, and she quickly leapt to his defense; and also, hearing the commotion from afar, joined in the fray as fast as their paws could carry them.

Although they were able to successfully defend themselves from the beast, they each sustained moderate to severe injuries, requiring 's healing prowess once they had made it back home.

07.30.2024 — Trouble at the border comes in the form of family. has come to collect his brother-in-law, while inciting 's ire.

7.23.2024 — A wonderful birthday party for the ladies of Dawnbreak was thrown by none other than , with the help of and ! The celebration has proven to be a time of reprieve and relaxation after an onslaught of continued trauma, fires, and losses.

HOT GIRL SUMMER — The fires have left many of the members of Dawnbreak, their leadership especially, battered and burned! thankfully narrowly escaped the flames with the help of Avon's . , too was able to escape with his life after a frightful encounter, thanks to and . They are now laid up in the recovery bay, healing thanks to the fine work of Dawnbreak's burgeoning healer, . There was also the unfortunate news of the passing of a brother — , who was tragically lost to the flames.

Three elected figureheads are chosen to preside over the three tiers - Power, Wisdom, and Courage - and are tasked specifically with ensuring the wellbeing and betterment of the pack from these positions of guidance.

Points of contention will always result in a call for a vote from the Ranked members of the pack; however, if the query is isolated and only relevant to a specific tier, then only the members of that tier will vote toward its resolution.

If any vote surrounding an issue comes to a draw, that is when the elected figurehead (or all three if it's a pack-wide debate) will step in to help break the tie.

While new figureheads may implement their own strategies and improvements for the general wellbeing of their elected tier, the overall message, decorum, and spirit of the pack and its integrity must be maintained.

Twice a year, Ranked members of the pack will be asked to participate in a vote to elect new candidates for each of the three pillars. Current and previous leaders may be re-elected in the event that the majority vote is in favor of it; the vote is typically held over three full days, allowing room for debate, questioning, and assessing a candidate's suitability for the role.

The current leader of an unrelated pillar may cast their vote for either of the two they do not preside over.

If a vote comes to a draw in spite of this, the current leader of the pillar in question may cast a vote, but not for themselves.

The voting system and code of conduct are concrete, and any attempts to rescind one of these cornerstones of democracy that Dawnbreak has been founded upon can expect swift retaliation.

Only members who have achieved rank within the pack may have the privilege of a vote. To earn this right, a member must demonstrate a sincere desire to ensure the safety of the pack, a sense of ownership in their role toward its prosperity, an eagerness to aid, and overall upstanding conduct.

While it is not necessarily difficult for a member to earn their first rank, it is important to maintain Dawnbreak's integrity and safety by ensuring a meaningful foundation for its voters.

1.— Mutual respect and ensuing consequences are both expected and enforced. If you bite, expect to be bitten.

2.— If you do not help contribute, you do not eat (unless otherwise incapacitated and/or suffering an ailment). Continued demonstrations of negligence will result in demotion.

3.— Coercion and blackmail, especially when utilized to secure a vote through underhanded means, is strictly forbidden.

4.— If there is any point of contention, open a debate so that all members of your pillar and presiding figurehead may listen and take part in its resolution.

5.— If a debate becomes too heated, there will be a call for a break until tensions subside. If a member is unable to control their emotions and/or escalate the issue toward violence, they will be removed from the debate and another will be chosen to push the issue in their stead.

6.— Most importantly, Dawnbreak is built upon trust. Each member welcomed into the pack is to be treated as family - it is the closest bond. If a packmate is in danger, it is expected to lay down your life for them as you would a brother or sister.

Without trust, there is no respect; without respect, there is no bond.

The wolves of Northfall claim the snowy mountainous region for which they are named after. The pack being as old as the very founding of the mountain itself, both established by the first King in the North, Ragnar Stormborn. Visitors are met with an overall rugged and hardy group of wolves who are accustomed to life on the terrain of equal measure. To live in Northfall requires a sheer-footed wolf with thick skin and a strong heart. These wolves are a closely bound group founded on blood ties, who are accepting of those who can prove just as driven, courageous and loyal.

10.27.25 Hello everyone! It has been unfortunately nearly a year since our last update in NF and nearly a year since King Ragnar's death. Many have gone since then and the reign of Kongungr Arvid is a quiet one. Recently disappeared, Wardruna calls a pack meeting as she accends the throne. Consul (Lead Guide) When this rank is filled, this wolf takes on the responsibility of being their Leaders personal advisor. May often help with high tension disputes in the ranks. Often this wolf is an aged, well rounded wolf and most trusted among the Leaders. May temporarily take charge as Leader if needed in the event of no Regent.
War Lord (Lead Sentry) A well versed warrior who should have guarding, raiding, and war experience. This wolf must be combat ready. The War Lord will command his sentry as seen fit during times of war and to defend the pack on a daily basis.
High Priest/ess (Lead Seer) One who is considered most connected to the Gods and as such, the earth. They can read the stars, said to be able to communicate with nature and understand the message of the Gods. A High Priestess may straddle the realm of the mortal and spirit world.
Prime Caregiver (Lead Medic) The most skilled of medics, capable of vast knowledge of both healing and deadly plants. This wolf would likely take the role as a midwife or wet-nurse as needed or give direction to their medics during times of war and disease.
Head Huntsman (Lead Hunter) A very great hunter, this wolf should be able to hunt small and large prey, as well as fish, track, and have knowledge of edible fruits and nuts. This wolf is responsible for giving command in pack hunts and making sure caches are full and in check.

Lay of the Land

The peaks of Northfall are a mountain which rests along the northern coasts. Frosted by snow year round, the mountains are bitter cold in the winter and pleasantly mild in the summer. With the sea winds from the west and the tundra to the north, the land is typically never without a good breeze. In the west the mountain plummets unto rocky and dark beaches to meet the choppy and icy ocean waters. A fjord snake's its way to the southern mountains, creating the life-water which spiders through the land and creates the Sterling River. While the upper elevations are mostly snow, ice and rock, the lower reaches are dotted with various evergreens and at the foothills to the south support a lush coniferous forest. Mountain goats and sheep are common in these mountains and in the forest below, caribou herds and moose graze.

Coming from the south you will be greeted with the lushiest parts of Northfall's evergreen forest along the foothills, dominated by pine.

Views from the western front, where mountains in some places plummet directly into sea. Where coastside is offered, beaches in some areas are made of slate rock where others offer white sands and a scattering of smooth, black stones.

Many creeks & streams flow through the rocky terrain that is Northfall, these ice waters snaking their way from the higher elevations and feeding the forestry below. On Northfall's eastern-most border this is where the visitor's dens have been dug out along knolls, root and den logs. An open fields nearby is where tournaments have been held.

These flowing waters make up some pretty little waterfalls too!

Pack Basics & Principles

"Lifestyle & Religion"

One must have strength in yourself, pride for your home and loyalty to your people. There is little room for weak wolves in Northfall. We fear not death, for immortality awaits. One must be strong- be it strong-minded or physically. Everyone is expected to pull their weight in the north.

Much if Northfall holds a viking-like and Norse general lifestyle from its founding bloodline. Wolves of Northfall have freedom of exploration and travel. It is not uncommon for members to be gone days, weeks, or even sometimes month at a time. Vikings should bring back knowledge, goods, gifts or even new members to their pack to help build & prosper. Spread the word of Northfall while your out and about!

As its founders come from a place of worship, they believe in what is called 'The Gods of Old' as well as Norse Gods. More on Stormborns specific beliefs are found here. Being adventurers and given the magic and godly influence of Mythris, they have also come to know of other religions in their travels. You are not required to believe, but should not mock one's belief either. Northfall is a highly religious pack, second only to their love of battle.

"Ranks & Trades"

Honored & Granted are unlimited positions. Royal Court may only have one wolf for each position/title, as these are the Leaders of that trade and are responsible for their lessors. Those of lower rank first report directly to their leader of the Royal Court, who then speak with the Superiors. The determining factor if more than one desires the rank at the same time is through ic activity, longevity, and/or ic challenges.

"Disputes & Challenges'

Do not (overly) harm your fellow packmate or ally. Doing so only leads to wolves who need time to heal and be waited on, making for less battle-ready individuals, thus, weakening the pack. If there is a disagreement it must be handled civilly or the issue given to the Leaders to decide. This does not include dominance fights, challenges and spats. Have at it. Royal Court challenges may be made but the Superiors have the right to veto this. Challenges against the King & Queen happen rarely, though if the majority masses rally against their Leaders, dethroning can occur. In the case of major disputes, the Superiors may ask upon their Royal Court for a vote on whats best for the pack.

"Adolescence Training"

At six months pups can (and should) begin being trained by specialists in each field of skill set. It is usual to practice each for one month so when the pup reaches to a yearling they have learned the basics of general trades to survive on their own when they disperse or to begin mastering the chosen art within the pack. This can be done icly for character development or BTS teachings. This trade training typically involves one month practicing hunting (starting with small prey hunted on your own), fighting (predominately protective defense), scouting (navigating, weather patterns), healing (quickness fixes to stop bleeding, avoid infections & dangerous plants), worship (learning of our gods) and advisory (learning of allies, providing for guests & other politics).

"Wars & Raids"

While we may pillage, we do not rape and pillage. While free love and all that is okay, taking someone by force is not. Breakers of this rule will recieve the same treatment as punishment. During battle, if a youth submits they are often free to escape or taken as prisoner unless dire circumstances tell otherwise. Adult prisoners are less often kept then killed. Prisoners of war often can work to regain their freedom or may be given to another group in trade.

09.26.2025 The planets aligned and Sauwce returned briefly.

07.26.2024 We gladly welcome the newest little hooligans into the ranks of Elysium! A happy birthday to and 's newest litter: , , , , and ! Welcome to the chaos!

06.28.2024 The necromancer Karle has resurrected Sauwce to fix her codes, whereupon she was later laid to rest once more... until next time.

06.19.2024 What began as an outpouring of feelings of neglect and resolution between two sisters quickly devolved into an emotionally-charged discussion surrounding - arranged marriages?! revealed that she had spoken with the King of Northfall, , with the intent of marrying off their children to each other... including and 's own. Barely able to control her rage, Valeska politely exited the conversation and made plans to pay the great King a visit of her own.

With the newly-recruited as a safeguard for the journey, they departed home to set things straight.

Just before this, however, she had enjoyed a heart-to-heart with her son , who expressed his growing frustration and loneliness now that his sister had taken up with a boy. This troubling news aside, Valeska offered for him to accompany her to Northfall, but he declined - and then changed his mind the following day, going after her with newfound determination to put himself out in the world. We pray for him.

We would also like to give a warm welcome to as Elysium's newest member! We are sorry in advance for what she may experience here.

05.05.2024 Appearing suddenly at their doorstep, Northfall's Queen asked for an audience with regarding recent events. As she relayed her experience of being kidnapped by some Odin fellow, vanishing for months without a trace much like her own , Valeska listened with great interest. Apparently had taken a new mate during his search for the lost Queen, creating a rift between the two that may never be repaired - in the wake of this discovery, she had formed a pack of her own by the name of Psychí Deméni.

Reaffirming their mutual respect for one another before Freya returned to her new home Storm's Reach, Elysium and Psychí Deméni formed a friendly alliance and bid each other goodbye.

Elysium now found themselves allied with two opposing packs - will the kindly hippies find themselves caught in the middle should things go awry? Only time will tell...

04.28.2024 has departed on a trip to seek out her lost brother at last, with the stoic by her side - could there be a romance blossoming between the pair? Time will tell, but we wish them luck on their journey!

01.17.2024 has returned home after a few months missing. There is a rumor of a strange, otherworldly captor that took her hostage - alas, at least she is safely home, with many more protective eyes watching her every move. in particular seems unusually protective of the girl, something that has not gone unnoticed by her parents...

01.11.2024 Sauwce returned to fix Karle's mistakes.

12.30.2023 Tragedy has struck Elysium with the sudden and inexplicable disappearance of , one of and 's daughters. Frantic and eager to find an outlet for her grief and rage, Valeska is quick to blame Northfall, as was the last wolf known to have seen her - due to her current instability, Valeska is placed under mandatory 'house arrest' within Fate's Respite while Amaranth and have gone to visit their allies in a bid to understand what has happened.

Not all is dark and without hope, however - the gods give and the gods take away in equal measure. Harper has given birth to a litter of six healthy pups - , , , , , and - and although still suffering from the heavy blow of her daughter's disappearance, Valeska cannot help but be delighted by the introduction of her newest nieces and nephews.

07.20.2023 Visiting their allies toward the west, accompanied the two leaders and their brood with some resentment over her disaster of a first date. While she did not return his affections, followed his lady love's tracks all the way to Duskguard, whereupon he very nearly engaged in combat with their friend - who, mercifully, did not choose to reciprocate.

After a few tumultuous days, Roland eventually broke away on his own and returned home.

Unknown to the others, he would pass away peacefully in his sleep - whether it had been stress from the journey or the culmination of a life well-lived with a heart full of love, Roland was gone.

found him curled around a collection of what were clearly his most treasured tokens, and held a memorial service in his honor.

06.18.2023 , in a well-meant attempt to inject some fun back into their day-to-day, gleefully arranged a blind date between and the beautiful . Set up for success down to the finest detail - she had even incorporated Amphitrite's peculiar request for stripes by painting them on the stud in question with layers of mud, in a terrible moment of misunderstanding - things unfortunately fell apart as the fair maiden quickly realized her suitor was old enough to be her great-great-grandfather, and decidedly not a certain tiger she'd set her eye on.

Even worse, ended up as collateral damage when she overheard Valeska and Roland whispering together about a 'date' - and wrongly inferred that her wife, who had once enjoyed her own dalliance with a much older man, was having an affair.

Perhaps a social trip to visit their allies in Duskguard might help divert Amphitrite's righteous fury away from Valeska.

05.14.2023 In a shocking turn of events 's mother, , has been gravely wounded - by none other than Cypress, the crimson wolf who has long cast a shadow over their bloodline and the reason for his grandson 's unfortunate coloring. The pack settles into a state of unease as they slowly nurse her back to health.

05.8.2023 Having returned home without incident, the High Priestess and her Augur are horrified to learn that nearly everyone has tried drowning in their absence, and inwardly vow never to leave Elysium unattended without a Certified Adult again.

05.2.2023 seemingly loses her litter, descending into grief as suddenly feels a strange pull toward a mysterious tree - which, after making an offering, they soon discover the lost pups nestled within the hollow of its embrace. Now they must journey back with their precious cargo.

04.29.2023 Elysium has been mysteriously transported to a strange new world - leaving its members with far more questions than they have answers. , in particular, is beside herself. This is the second time. What is she doing wrong?!

Formed from the ideals of a single wolf's devotion to the gods and bettering the world around her, Elysium is meant to be a refuge, a place of peace.

Sequestered away in a mountain oasis, it is a symbol of new life, of new beginnings. Elysium was created for the holy, the humble, and even the sinful wishing for respite; all of those who wish to worship the gods or simply live out their time in joy and freedom. All lost and vagrant souls are welcome in the fold of this deep-knit family, bound together by goodwill as much as they are by love for one another, and those who enter their ranks are treated with fairness and respect.

While still believing there are other ways to resolve conflict outside of violence, they do understand that some bloodshed may be necessary for the continuation of a paradise dedicated to sheltering the lost, or simply those who may be fleeing unfavorable circumstances.

To stand up for those who cannot stand - that is their holy mission.

It is expected of all members to contribute by nourishing and uplifting one another in both body and spirit, providing comfort for the lonely, and working together to create a home for those who seek light in a world of darkness.

All may find rest in Elysium, should they find themselves there.

THE PACK MANTRA

What belongs to one, belongs to all
Small prey and precious trinkets notwithstanding, it is expected that all members pool their kills and resources so that everyone may reap the benefits of a bountiful life.
Respect your neighbors, even if they disagree
While Elysium was created primarily to worship the Five in peace, wolves of all faiths are welcome within its stone walls, and their right to individual freedom is to be acknowledged and not overstepped. Unless the god in question has horrible wolven sacrifices or cannibalistic rituals ... then probably not.
Rank through deeds
Whether it be pack events or through extraordinary feats (or even the small ones that add up), moving up through the pack hierarchy is something that is earned with time and grace; events are also held at the end of every season at a minimum, giving the winner of the games a chance to move up for proving their skill in a particular area.
No soul turned away
If any wolf seeks sanctuary, it is by a divine obligation that they are taken in; no matter how abhorrent, even the lowly and the sinful will be welcomed if they ask it. However, exceptions will be made where if they should seek destruction, they will be cast out.

EXPANDED HIERARCHY

Rank is not so much a privilege of lofty standing and great treasure here, as much as it is an honor and tangible proof of a wolf’s skill and character. Those who have earned their respective titles may have the honor of hosting special events and ceremonies, as well as teaching others among the pack the skills of their trade or inspire them to similar feats; all for the glory of Elysium and the gods themselves. All wolves begin as Acolytes, and upon choosing and demonstrating skill in a job class, they earn the title - and from there, earn higher forms.
Only one wolf from each job class may earn their rank's final station, bearing its own unique name, through exceptional demonstration of skill; those four plus the High Priestess and her Augur make up the Council. They are the mouths of the gods, and give counsel to the High Priestess and help keep the pack running smoothly.
