We have some exciting announcements! First off, a huge welcome to our newest group, Tianlong - they've put in a lot of work to get here, and have now settled comfortably in Verdant's Grace.
Secondly, with feedback from the community, we have adjusted our Skills system to better reflect the relaxed nature of Vivarium. Fewer points are now required for each Skill tier, and can be seen in the Guidebook here.
We have also, at member suggestion, crafted a guideline section to help users know what actions qualify for earning each Skill.
Unfortunately, we do have some sad news as well; Seikii has disbanded, and the Ichorwood now lays unclaimed. We hope they may return one day, and wish them all the best!

All Hallow's Eve is upon us ... and something spooky this way comes.
Just as the strange light of the eternal blood moon wanes, there is a new magic that touches Vivarium. But this magic is dark and heavy, fraying the edges of the realm between the living and the dead.
On Halloween only (10/31—11/3), the dead walk among the living once more. Check out this post for more information!

What's this? A mysterious Blood Moon has suddenly appeared, and... it doesn't seem to be going anywhere. In fact, the days seem to be getting darker - click here to participate in this new, week-long event!
On a fun note, we have also launched our Spook the Outfit 'dress the character above you' event for those who wish to engage in some silliness.

Another vision of the past visits all denizens of Mythris in the night, and upon waking, the plague seems to have abated; in its place, a heavy fog persists over the continent, but now it is safe (to a degree) to travel into once-uninhabitable areas. While the effects of the plague still linger, they are not as severe as they were before.
The parasite is still present and may enter any threads marked with the BWP tag at random.
An eerie calm settles over the land.

Happy October, Vivarium!
The seasonal mini-events have progressed, revealing a few plot points related to the BWP. There seems to be a pull toward the Moving Isle. What could be there? Thank you to everyone who participated, and enjoy your bonus skill points!
As an added bonus, the Moving Isle now has its own board! Feel free to utilize this board for your continued stories and investigative hunts, but be warned, when it moves, so will you!
Also, what a spooky surprise! There’s a new seasonal badge that was awarded for participation. Don’t worry, there’ll be other opportunities to get the badge before the end of the season! Keep your eyes peeled and don't forget, a red moon is just around the corner.
It seems as though the effects of the Plague are slightly weaker this season … thanks to our efforts. But there is a looming threat. Even the voice of the dream visitor seems more distant. Wonder what that could mean...
Last but certainly not least, a major congratulations to our two newest packs: Camhanaich and Saatsine!! We cannot wait to see how they'll grow!

Happy Autumn, Vivarium! As the seasons turn colder, we are happy to announce a sneak peek at some new Fall events (both IC and OOC), as well as some BWP notes! Please see the post HERE for more information on the Autumn update! This is a phased release, with a few smaller events leaking throughout the season! (:
Please also note that there are two new themes available for use, starting today! Yeehaw!! Special thanks to CJ and Micah for supplying these themes, and a thank you again to everyone who participated in the banner contest! You can change your theme at the very bottom of the browser, in the drop-down box on the right side.
We also would like everyone to direct their attention to THIS SECTION of the guidebook for some important updates and revisions to our "Strikes" system. As always, please let any member of staff know if you have any questions or concerns regarding anything!
We would also like to highlight and congratulate Vivarium's newest packs: Satriya and Jakten! Congratulations on formation and merging, may both packs see prosperity!

After the unsettling discovery of an ancient horror and the ensuing dream, fresh danger invades the land... will your character encounter this new threat, or will they evade it altogether? Be careful... if you mark your thread as "BWP", there's a chance it may appear!
We're also excited to announce that after a very close vote, we will be welcoming on our newest moderators - Middy and Rosie Partytime! We can't wait to get them settled and foist all of our hard work onto them so we can kick back and relax.
(We're kidding.)
In a further positive turn of events, we are pleased to announced the formation of Satriya! This formidable pack resides in the ruins of Skyspear - and they must be hardy indeed to survive the scorching sun and unforgiving sands of this harsh climate.
Unfortunately, we are sad to announce the disbandment of Yuelin - but these things happen, and perhaps one day they may rise anew!

The efforts of the Rune-seekers have not been in vain - an ancient Artifact has been unearthed, and with it, the gift of a long-forgotten magic tied to its past.
Players are now able to utilize the mysterious byways of old to fast-travel between regions (see under 'Rewards'); using one of these tunnels shortens a long, arduous journey to that of a single day. Check out the map to see where these tunnels reside, and stay tuned for an update to the Guidebook for easier reference!
We are also sad to announce the disbandment of the Fujiwara Dynasty - their legacy remains in our hearts, however, and should they ever reform, we will be eager and waiting to see what's in store for them next.

We’ve gotten quite a few surveys in, and we hear you! We’re still reading your discussions and listening, but wanted to make a quick announcement. We’re working on implementing some quality-of-life changes (pending coder assistance) as well as -
What will be our first fully interactive, full-length board-wide plot players will soon discover and must work together to solve!
This story will have a heavy impact on the world of Mythris and everyone in it, exploring the origins of how it came to be as players embark on a journey led by clues. The world is changing as something dark looms on the horizon, and only by learning the secrets of Mythris’ past can the future be saved.
After all - why do souls suddenly appear in this place? What forces drag our unsuspecting characters from their respective worlds?
Threading and player interaction will be encouraged to find more clues, and we will implement permanent rewards for the penultimate conclusion of the story - stay tuned while we cook!

Autumn of Year 2
Autumn is here. Finally, the heat of the summer is breaking, and you can breathe a sigh of relief as the cool grip of autumn touches the lands of Mythris. All across the continent, the colors begin to change ... from a vibrant green to a collection of warm reds and oranges. Frantic prey begin their troublesome hustle to store food for the winter..
But there is still the ever present threat of the plague. The power of the dark magic seems to spread, leaving prey more and more sparse before the coming winter. There is a very palpable dread in the air as the plague continues to leech the life from the land ... though things in the epicenters are suddenly feeling suspiciously quiet ...
