Ur-henu (BWP) - Phoenix Rising - 10/19/2025 skill: vagabond From the dark, bone-white fogs of the hollow, to the deep muck and grim of the suffocating mire, the Egyptian pair carried on. The light of their journey had finally come to fade away and by the time they broke from the spidery trees and tangled mosses of the mire north, they arrived to the pale sandy beaches of the Coral Shores. The skies ablaze like a wild fire in deep reds, orange and yellow. It was... a stunning sight from the hellish landscapes they had encountered thus far. So much so that the priestess could not help but to dash forward with a playful yip. Long legs lengthening the distance between the dark swamp and into the beauty of the shoreline quickly. With a leap and pounce, like a fox might while hunting, she slides her long legs across the sands, partially burying her front limbs into it as she falls into a lay, her laughter cast out over the waves. RE: Ur-henu (BWP) - Setemhotep - 10/19/2025 Skill - Ranger 1/5 Hotep couldn't hold back a smile at Phoenix's elation, the simple purity of it. He followed more slowly, ears flickering this way and that, and it occurred to him to wish that he could release hold over himself in similar fashion. His time as priest had seen him bound like the dead in many ways, a vessel for greater things. There was value in that. Meaning. Fulfillment. Even its own kind of joy. But Phoenix proved with each breath she took that service to gods and mortals did not require the hobbling of feet. Her heart needed no scarab to speak for it. Had he ever been so free? It was hard to recall. It is a beautiful sight. I have never seen such pure waters...He mused, sitting down beside her, and regarded this sea with less wariness than those past. No crocodiles could lurk under an ocean as clear as the sky. Something something feels about the inversion of Hotep serving Ra the creator & Phoenix serving Osiris who is straight up Dead, and which one of them acts more alive LOL
RE: Ur-henu (BWP) - Phoenix Rising - 10/30/2025 lmfao ain't that some shit!
skill: vagabond Bright sun and sea eyes stared out over the ocean waters. Just past the curling and breaking of waves on the shoreline, her attention is caught by shimmering colors. The light of the sun catching still just right even as it faded in the day, allowing the Pheonix to focus on - what was that - an impressive, colorful coral reef just a short swim away. How stunning! Of course, given that the sun had set, Pheonix, having lived near the coast before, was wise in her knowledge not to go swimming in fading light, especially near coral reefs. The last thing she needed was a large slice from sharp edges this far from home or worse, a bite from a sea snake or eel. However, it did not mean she couldnt enjoy the shallows. Come and join me, Sesh. The words coo from parted jaws as she lifts just moments after he comes to settle down in a sit beside her. If he doesnt shy away, she would reach into the black furs of his jawline and tug at the fur there playfully before taking a few side bounds away. The gods breath into us new life, let us show them our appreciation! They were tired. Very tired and she was sure that before they left here, her paws might crack and bleed on the coarse sand after hours of soft, swamp feet. Still, she would bound away and splash in the shallows with a hyped adrenaline, for however short a time it would last. RE: Ur-henu (BWP) - Setemhotep - 11/2/2025 Skill - Heartbroken 2/5 Worship in joy! He laughed with embarrassment as she tugged on his throat, staggering after the priestess with reluctant obedience. I fear my lack of grace would reflect poorly on your ritual, hemet! And still he followed, through the ache in bones that still remembered what it was like to be starving. Much coordination had been restored to him thanks to hearty meal and proper care, yet the easy lope of a desert-born noble across sunwarm sand carried stiffness. It would take time and practice to remember the instinct. And as motivating as stubbornness could be in acts of restoration, he found himself self-conscious of the loss where another might so readily witness it. He told himself it was only this, and not a deeper vein of less nameable insecurity. At the edge of the water he pranced high-step in faint approximation of her energy, breathing in salt air and seaspray as gulls cackled overhead. RE: Ur-henu (BWP) - narrator - 11/16/2025 Rune Discovery : 「 Pending Success 」 Picturesque. Was it not? The sky above was painted in a palette of sunset hues, drifting through faint, windswept clouds, as the shoreline purred in its pursuit of them. The oscillating waves became a rhythmic pull — back and forth — as their paws dipped into the shallows. For a world engulfed in such horrors that the pair of them had seen, it certainly was a welcome respite where the wolves could finally just be. No monsters drifting through the shadows, peering at them through hungry, rabid eyes. Instead, it seemed they were rewarded for their efforts as a gentle breeze caressed their sides, pulling them closer toward the coral reefs beyond. Look! The wind seemed to whisper in your ears, Look! In the water! And surely as you crane your attention toward the shifting waves, the shadows of sunset now blanketing the once clear surface, you spot the faint but pulsing blue light. A rune. It is there. Nestled between the corals, like a clownfish in an anemone, buried deep within the reef. Logic tells you to wait till sunrise, knowing very well of the dangers that lurk within the reefs. However, a different part of you urges your paws forward, as if a hidden knowledge is reminding you: if you don’t get it now, the rune will be gone by sunrise. Still, the sunset remains across the horizon, an hourglass counting the kernels of sand before darkness surrounds you both. You don’t have long to find the Rune, nor daylight to keep you safe from a mishap within the reef. The choice is yours: Brave the dangers of the coral reef, or turn back now and leave the rune behind. RE: Ur-henu (BWP) - Phoenix Rising - 11/17/2025 Worry not, Sesh, your slender and spry. You will move just as fluid in time.Pheonix on slender build atop legs of stilts turn and prance back into Setemhotep's direction who stiffly stumbled to catch up to her. She comes back to his side one more, giggling as she caught the sight of him, being much shorter, high-stepping through low tide. Their journey together had been a hard one, but in the hours alone with him, she had come to quite enjoy the little wolf of red arches across black skies. The salt winds are ever pleasing and she finds her body turning to point her nose toward the open water. Before she knows it, the wind is almost beckoning her direction and she turns her face towards its path. Towards the reef. There, dimly under the ever darkening waters with the falling sun, is the faint glow of a rune. Had she not just thought moments ago how unwise it would be to get a close up of the reef beyond daylight hours? I'm going to get it.She decides rather quickly, knowing they did not have much time to discuss what possibilities of danger she might face in doing so. She didnt leave much room for his objection, either, for the priestess was already dashing into the waves with some serious high-stepping of her own. RE: Ur-henu (BWP) - Setemhotep - 11/21/2025 Skill - Apostle 3/5 Shu's whispering beckon sent a shudder down Hotep, excited by the realization that Phoenix's work had borne fruit. Only for his heart to sink like the rune itself, on realizing their task. Ears flattening, he grimaced at it flickering and distorted beneath the waves. Before he could ask what their plan ought to be, the stoked embers of his companion's form streaked past, a last tinge of red fading in the gathered dusk. He was struck with sudden anxiety that she would be extinguished! W-wait!He called, sidestepping the surf as she surged deeper. Shouldn't we—Hotep cut off, doubting she could hear him over the splashing and roll of surf. Sesh was not given to vulgarity. But after a few heartbeats longer of staring after her, he muttered a jittery, Nek!, and followed his priestess into deeper, dangerous waters. RE: Ur-henu (BWP) - narrator - 12/1/2025 Rune Discovery : 「 Success - Parasite present 」 You had been presented with an impossible choice - possibly losing the rune forever to the dying light, or risk your own life in its pursuit. After all, what was the measure of a wolf's soul? When it meant potentially saving the land of Mythris and the thousands of creatures that called it home, was it worth anything at all? The waves gentle as you find yourself submerged ever deeper and carried with surprising ease toward the flickering blue glow nearby. You are baffled. Was it the intent, the gesture? The implied self-sacrifice? Unseen and unknown, malevolence churns within the tide's careful embrace. The waters seem to buoy you almost apologetically toward your target as the infectious spores find every means of entry into your unsuspecting forms, and you are none the wiser. The rune pulses, a glowing invitation to fetch it from its prison - and you heed the call. You are successful as you return to shore, but your body already fights an invisible enemy as your core temperature rises. Parasite Event for Phoenix Rising and Setemhotep:
You have several options as a player when confronted with infection. You may either 1. Choose to automatically fail in repelling the spores, becoming infected 2. Roll for infection (1d100 - 50 and under fails, 51 and over succeeds in repelling the parasite) 3. Choose to repel them, but suffer a crippling migraine and muscle weakness for two in-game weeks You may roll, or you may request staff to do so. This keeps things fair enough where players can still have some autonomy while also ensuring they participate in plot developments! Symptoms do not manifest immediately, and may take up to three days to begin. RE: Ur-henu (BWP) - Phoenix Rising - 12/9/2025 going with option 3 again!
skill: vagabond The pheonix did not know these waters, yet did her best not to allow this to show. Lucky enough for her, this beach and striking, clean and clear. It would be magnificent in the day more so then even the night, she felt. Hopping and splashing past the waves and beyond to calmer waters. This is where Nun might reach out to them from dark, endless depths. Hoisting them, holding them, so that with little effort that are pulled into the very spot which the rune rest. Pheonix would glance to Setemhotep, who bravely came there after his partner. Then, she would dive, long legs stretching and curling, pulling her to where the rune lay snug between peach and pearl corals. It was a stunning sight, one which she knew she must return to again in time. Pheonix grasps the rune and lifts with such unexpected ease. Far different from the rune she and the red woman had collected from the cavern! Hurrrrehhh!A mumbled exclamation for them to hurry to the shores, should their favor run out. Which they make it to easily, peacefully and Pheonix Rising knows it was a feat which would not have had any chance of coming out unscathed had they not been in favor of their gods. Little did she realize, as she settled the rune onto the sands, they were both far from unscathed. Pheonix Rising had suffered such a sickness once before and so would again. RE: Ur-henu (BWP) - Setemhotep - 12/9/2025 I'll go with 3 this time, too, just bc enough else has happened in Satriya since the start of this thread it would be hard to explain his having a brain worm thru all that ahahah Skill - Apostle 4/5 He was not accustomed to swimming, especially in deep water. So he was all the more relieved by godly grace as the waves rolled over reef. Lapping waves made it hard to see beyond his immediate surroundings, and distorted the world below. When he submerged after her to help pry it from the corals, saltwater stung eyes and nose, and Hotep felt great urgency to breathe despite lungfuls of plentiful air taken in to abide the dive. Hippos and crocodiles were unnatural beasts, indeed, to favor these climes! He was grateful for Phoenix's promptness, and an easy return to shore. Thin fur clung even closer to his body, protruding ribs and spine and making him look too-thin, again. He gasped on the sand, snorting water from his nose and shaking at the stubborn clogs in his ears. A quivering, put-out thing he was, in the fading light! But his eyes gleamed at the prize they had won. Phoenix had found runes before, but for him, this was the first to set eyes upon, The power upon it! You can feel it in the very air.He awed. It was no carving he recognized — not a traditional hieroglyph. To her, he tore his away from the stone, What happens, now? |
