She had never known loneliness before, isolation or how the hollow in her chest burned. She missed her mom, missed her sisters ─ missed the life they had and it ate away like acid in her heart. And as the days turned into weeks the reality that she may never be able to see them again; or that they may truly not want her became all too clear. They lived in her memories though, and she lingered along the edges of the meadow, looking longingly into the open expanse of earth for a glimpse of them. That they might come; that they might have been worried all along. Might be relieved to see her alive and well. Might dote over her and litter her face with kisses and love her like they once had.
But she was met with silence, the wind the only caress as it tousled her fur. Eidola was growing, faster now than before; her legs growing longer - features narrowing and gradually becoming more feminine as she transitioned; it was slow but she was shedding baby fat for muscle. The girls nose was pitched toward the meadows purple eyes locked with hope when the rains began, sprinkling at first before erupting into a full downpour, drenching her coat before too long.
Still she sat there, even as her fur became waterlogged and it ran off her nose. And as the thunder gently rolled above her; it was nice ─ like the sky was mourning for her. With her.
