Thank you, you're so kind! We certainly hope so,
Apple gushed back, ears hot, but smile warm. They'd come a long way from the island on the other side of Mythris, where the golden Dusk wished to hide her shame in whatever dark hole Izumi had run off to hide in. There was no foul play at work, just, perhaps, that of their own minds. Maybe Izumi was struggling with the same weight Apple was, and neither of them had known. Would they have been able to find comfort in one another, had they just opened up? Had she found solace in someone else, and that's why she was gone?
Apple might never know.
She simply offered a wag of her tail and, not wanting to push too close to a stranger, didn't follow the urge to drink from the pool as well. There were plenty of other places to get a drink when she went back home! The woman was friendly, interesting, and the Dusk didn't want to weird her out or anything. Not knowing the line of too friendly anymore just saved Apple quite The Time.
Excitement seized Apple as the darker woman straightened and asked of her goal.
Well, my brother and I, we grew up in the Dusk Kingdom. Our great-grandmother founded it after her parents was overrun, and my grandmother runs it now. My littermate and I left to travel, but we ended up... here, we don't know how, and I lost her not long after arriving. Later on, I found my brother, and we realized maybe there were other Dusks still wandering around looking for what we left behind, like our sister.
Jesus, that was so much without actually mentioning the pack, wasn't it? No, it was relevant! Plus, it had to be good to mention Plum; if there was any chance their last littermate was still out there, she had to be found, and if she could be brought home, the Dusk's would make it happen. Apple shuffled her paws.
We're starting it again, here, in hopes to light a beacon for our lost kin; him as King, and me as his second-in-command. If any one of them even heard of a pack in or on the edge of the desert, we're sure they'd check it out. The sands have always been home to us. We have no fancy mission or almighty purpose, just survival; effective, everyone-pulls-their-weight, protect-your-own survival.
