Ko-Ga supplied helpfully, tilting his beak down to preen at a wing before realizing the gesture might seem insensitive next to his less-flighted kin. He blinked. Aaa aa Aaaa Aaa! (You can make sounds of animals. Nate-dog is smart enough to understand.) Then an almost hopeful ruffle of feathers, Aa Aa aa! (Or tell me and I tell him! Ko-Ga is a good translator!)

Salt? Aivar raised a brow, looking at Nate Ronan like he'd grown a second head. At least he knew what salt was, but he didn't know specifically where any salt was. Why? Maybe this stranger was craving salt, maybe he was going to tell the bird to roll in it, who knew, really? This guy was just getting weirder and weirder.

The raven squinted, but the wolves still did not act like they wanted to eat him. Ko-Ga continued to translate.

Eagle, the raven answered Ko-Ga with a bitter hiss.

Skil - Healer

It helps with healing. Nate answered, If you mix it with clean water, you can wash the sick out of a wound. Stings a bit, though. He lifted a paw up to rub the scar over his brow, a thick line from what must have been an ugly wound at some point.

Funny, the things you carried with you from one life to the next. But he guessed he preferred keeping this over what the cattlemen had done to him.

Ko-Ga blinked in impressed surprise. Then turned to Nate and answered with the uncannily accurate cry of a red-tailed hawk.

Nate-Dog's face scrunched in longsuffering distress. His lip flattened and he raised his brows as if to say, Really?

Ko-Ga laughed gutturally at his own joke, feeling confident his flockmate would understand. As a younger bird just learning to mimic, he'd often got the two confused. But once he figured it out, he'd continued to mix them up on purpose for the sake of a more amusing reaction from Nate.

It was still funny.

But! It couldn't all be fun and games. Ko-Ga could be serious, when needed. He looked back at the raven, Aaa aaa aaa! (Eagle big bully-bird! How'd you escape?)
